Mission Statement

Our mission as the PTA at Liberty Ridge is:

  • To bring together parents and teachers to openly discuss issues,
  • To support educational programs, and
  • To build a sense of community and Eagle pride within our school

Our bylaws charge us with

  • Promoting the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship.
  • Raising the standards of home life.
  • Securing adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
  • Bringing into closer relations the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
  • Developing between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.

We encourage all parents to volunteer. Children receive a strong, positive message that school is important each time they see you volunteer

Objectives

PTA Objectives

  • Increase PTA visibility with parents and staff
    • Keep website up to date
    • Use listserv to contact parents
    • Publicize meetings and agendas on bulletin boards and online
  • Encourage and enhance teacher involvement in the PTA
    • Provide agenda items prior to general meetings and board meetings
    • Hold meetings at 4 pm
    • Allow space in newsletter for staff
  • Increase level of volunteerism at leadership levels to build for the future
    • Encourage current program and project coordinators to train incoming coordinators
    • Create instructional flow sheet for PTA programs and projects
  • Review our enrichment programs to enhance the education of all our children
  • Continue building sense of community by hosting social events and increasing our availability to our parents and staff
  • Conduct appropriate fundraisers to provide the funds necessary to support our programs and social activities
Positions that help run the PTA
 
  • Student Directory Database Administrator
  • Social Media Adminitrator (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Etc)
  • Site representative for AM meetings at Liberty Ridge acting as the PTA voice on various matters
  • Communications Group representative attending monthly meetings at the district level acting at the PTA voice on various matters.
  • Department chairs that oversee multiple activities or co-chair multiple activities working with the PTA Board and the Coordinators that are working on specific activities. 
  • Activity Coordinators set up and run specifict activities and manage the volunteers for the activity.
  • Volunteers, our most important group, volunteers make the activities the PTA performs and support possible.
